It freaks her out just seeing it, a sick feeling in the pit of her stomach she fights to ignore, expecting — wanting — him to say, yeah, it's weird, it's scary, it's nothing. Chris is her friend, and they've seen some weird things and been through hell, but some part of Olive still feels, deep down, that they're invincible, immortal. Nothing bad can happen to the people she loves.
